Join us for an intimate conversation and book signing with reporter, activist, and writer of Handbook for a Post-Roe America, Robin Marty, The Daily Show co-creator and founder of Lady Parts Justice League, Lizz Winstead, and Director of The Brigid Alliance, Odile Schalit.
With a right-wing Supreme Court and a Republican Senate, Roe is under threat and this conversation is more timely than ever. Handbook for a Post-Roe America is a user-friendly manual for understanding and preparing for the looming changes to reproductive rights law, and getting the healthcare you need—by any means necessary.
Activist and writer Robin Marty guides readers through various worst-case scenarios of a post-Roe America and offers ways to fight back, including how to acquire financial support, how to use existing networks and create new ones, and how to, when required, work outside existing legal systems. She details how to plan for your own emergencies, how to start organizing now, what to know about self-managed abortion care with pills and/or herbs, and how to avoid surveillance.
The only guidebook of its kind, Handbook for a Post-Roe America includes an extensive, detailed resource guide for all pregnant people (whether cis, trans, or non-binary) of clinics, action groups, abortion funds, and practical support groups in each state, so wherever you live, you can get involved!
Layout of Night:
6:30 – 6:45 PM: You arrive and before the discussion begins, mix and mingle with new and old friends, grab a snack, and buy a book! Lady Parts Justice League and The Brigid Alliance will have wine and light snacks for attendees!
6:45 – 7:45 PM: The main program will include a conversation between Robin Marty, Lizz Winstead, Odile Schalit.
7:45 – 8:30 PM: Book signing! If you haven’t already purchased the book don’t worry! You can buy one that night to have it signed by Robin Marty! After you get your book signed, make sure you head over to the Lady Parts Justice League table to take action and stop by The Brigid Alliance table to hear how to support them!
