Works of Radical Imagination

Ed Halter & Loren Glass at The New School

April03 at The New School's Bob and Sheila Hoerle Lecture Hall (UL105) in New York, New York

Join us for a panel discussion on the legacy of Barney Rosset’s work, featuring LOREN GLASS, University of Iowa professor and author of Rebel Publisher: Grove Press and the Revolution of the Word (Seven Stories, April 2018), and ED HALTER, film critic, co-founder of Light Industry, and editor (with Barney Rosset) of From the Third Eye: The Evergreen Review Film Reader (Seven Stories, March 2018). The discussion will be moderated by John Oakes, head of the New School Publishing Institute, co-founder and co-publisher of O/R Books, and publisher of the revived online Evergreen Review.

BARNEY ROSSET (1922-2012) was the founder and longtime publisher of Grove Press, and publisher and editor in chief of the magazine Evergreen Review. He led numerous successful legal battles against censorship, securing landmark rulings for free speech.

Copies of From the Third Eye: The Evergreen Review Film Reader and Rebel Publisher: Grove Press and the Revolution of the Word will be available for purchase following the discussion.
