7PM-9PM
219 Irving Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237
Join author & editrix Cat Fitzpatrick at Hive Mind Books to celebrate the publication of her new book, THE DINNER PARTY: A BOOK ABOUT LOVE
The Dinner Party is an outrageous and thought-provoking collection of poems about a trans femme dinner party featuring cameo portraits of its guests. The book also includes other themed pieces about love, friendship, & the trials and tribulations of making babies for queer and trans couples.
Fitzpatrick will speak and take audience questions at this event. After the talk, she'll sign copies of her books.
The Dinner Party is a follow-up to Cat’s debut verse novel, The Call-Out (Seven Stories Press, 2022), which was awarded the 2023 Lambda Award for Transgender Fiction. Cat is also the author of the poetry collection Glamourpuss (Topside Press, 2016), and the co-editor of the anthology Meanwhile, Elsewhere: Science Fiction & Fantasy from Transgender Writers, which won the ALA Stonewall Award for Literature. She is the first trans woman Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies program at Rutgers University–Newark, and she also serves as the Editrix at LittlePuss Press.
